Snow Drifts and Paper Clips

I swear, it has snowed more times in the past two weeks then it did all winter! This morning the howling wind woke me up. I sat up in bed remembering that my gloves, hat and scarf were still outside on the snowman... That's if they hadn't blown away yet. It was 1am; I climbed out of bed, rubbed my eyes and went to the front door. After turning the locks I pulled the door open and instantly the front window covered in frost. Instinctively, I rubbed a small circle removing the ice crystals and looked out. One glove was gone but all the others still remained. I began to push the door, realizing that I was going to have to use some force to get it open due to the wind, then stepped outside. My toes froze instantly and I leaped off the front steps towards the frozen creation I had designed. I pulled the left hand glove off of his stick, and as I pulled the hat off, his whole head fell off. I threw it to the ground keeping my hat in hand. Next, I glanced around for my glove and saw it out yonder towards the fence. Thankful it hadn't blown away, I grabbed it, then ripped the scarf off of the beheaded snowman.

School has been canceled for the youngens in the area and the wind continues to build drifts. It isn't yet snowing here, but my mom says it sure is at her house. I am hoping that if it is going to be this cold and yucky outside that it will just snow. Mind as well dump a few feet of snow, its not like I have any where to go.

I received two of my new books in the mail yesterday. Chicken Soup for the Christian Soul, and Chicken Soup for the Christian Woman's Soul. I can't wait to indulge in them on this bitter winter day. Hope its a very blessed one for you!

Saturday Snow Day

Two of our good friends, Kris and Spencer, made a 9 1/2 ft tall snowman and called us over to come check it out at like 10pm.

After going home at about 1:30am, I decided that I wasn't tired and wanted to make a snowman of our own at home.

Isn't he cute?! Who said military wives can't have a little fun at 2am :)

Outlet

Alright that's it. I'm going to use this to complain a little bit. Why is it that after I get out of the shower and go change ** runs into the bathroom and decides to spend an hour in there. Its not like I have plans or anything... This only happens when I have somewhere to be. Coincidence? Maybe, but it is so frustrating! UGH!

Okay, I'm done complaining now, I just needed to get some frustrations out.

Yesterday, a day to Remember

January 29, 1989- September 30, 2009
A dear friend of mine would have turned 22 yesterday. Chance Wayne Threet was a great guy, practically a brother to me. He was one of my brother's best friends, and a great, positive influence on my life. He loved the Lord and wasn't afraid to say so. There is not a day goes by that I don't miss him. I know that he is in a better place, and celebrating his birthday with our Savior. Your memory lives on Chance. Ride Cowboy Ride. Forever in our hearts and memories. RIP Chance Wayne!

Review

Alright, I have procrastinated enough; it's time to post a new blog! In my last post, I said that my husband got his orders home. I am looking forward to seeing his smiling face in the airport at the beginning of March. That is, if the Army gets their crap together and actually lets him come home on time! It is funny how God can put situations and people into our lives and test us. He knows just how much we can handle, and He wants to make sure that we know that we have to turn to Him in all circumstances good and bad. Weston has been put to the test lately with an investigation that is going on. I'm proud to say that through all of this, we know that the Lord is the answer. He has a reason for everything and no matter what, the end result will work out just the way it is supposed to.

In the past month or so, I've been sick too many times for my liking. I just finished up with some kind of stomach virus, we will just call it the stomach flu. After not being able to keep down food or liquids for several days, my family insisted that I go to the Dr. Well, the military base Doctors are free, so my mom took me there. Come to find out, I only have Tri-Care Standard, and can only see emergency room doctors instead of just making appointments with a primary Dr. That explains why I was having so much trouble trying to book an appointment online! So a guy came in and explained all the legal paperwork that Weston had to do in order for me to be able to get the other type of insurance. With that all said and done and on its way to me in snail mail, we are one step closer to figuring out the military's medical insurance. Hooah!

The doctor also gave me a very inspiring speech about why I should take my medicine and what it is going to do to me if I don't. I hate the fact that I have a thyroid condition, and I basically had quit taking my medicine because I grew accustomed to the side effects of being low-thyroid. However, after her speech and hearing what I am doing to my long-term health, I am making a commitment to take my medicine every day. Plus, it will make me feel better overall, right? Right!

I started online classes this week for college again. I feel like it is going to be a great opportunity for me to be able to participate in classes without actually having to go to the campus. Not only will I save in gas money, but maybe, just maybe, I won't hate my classes so much. I like being able to do things at my own pace, where ever I want to! It also allows for me to keep my own schedule. I have a feeling that until Weston comes home I am going to be taking night classes. AKA I sleep when he sleeps and I get to talk to him a whole lot more! Hip hip hooray!

The four classes that I have chosen to take this semester are College Algebra- which I absolutely loath!, Creative Writing II- which I am semi looking forward to since I love to write, Public Speaking- because who doesn't love being able to take a speaking class where you get to sit in front of your web cam instead of a class :), and Medical Terminology-because I know that someday I will need to know some of these stupid terms... and Lori is in the class too, score!

That is the gist of what is going on in my life right now. Toodles.
